This is one of the best cleanser ever. It leaves my skin feel hydrate instead of just stripping the oil off my face like some cleansers for oily skin. I have oily acne prone skin and usually anything claiming to detox means my skin is going to end up red stripped and result in an angry oily painful break out. This stuff is amazing though, it removes all my make up (and I use the long wearing stuff) and makes my skin feel clean and incredibly soft after every use. I originally got it in the travel kit and loved it SO much I was rationing it until my bigger bottle arrived because I didn't want to be without it!! Another thing is a little really goes a long way so to me it's definitely worth the price. (Posted on 6/2/13)

I am turning 30 this year and was looking for a cleanser that took my makeup off, cleared my skin but did't dry my skin out. This cleanser takes all of my makeup off effortlessly and leaves my skin feeling soft. I am just getting into the Michael Todd line as I have honestly been really content with my Eminence skincare for the last year, another great organic line. I still use mostly Eminence but a few MT products have now balanced out my routine being the Knu Face Lift Moisturizer and this cleanser. Going all natural as far as skincare etc is just a much healthier choice leaving out all those chemicals on the market but easier said than done having insanely breakout/clog/oily prone fussy skin like mine lol. This cleanser is a rare item in not being completely full of oils as most natural products are, not stripping my skin by being too acidic which most natural gels are, and just giving my stubborn skin the deep clean it needs without stripping it long term. I have recently become a huge fan of activated charcoal in the last few months as it just has so many amazing benefits just starting at teeth whitening. I was pleasantly suprised to see this cleanser was charcoal based so I knew it would really detox the pores. As far as the smell goes I feel like only people who have never used natural skincare would complain LOL. Yes it is not artificially fragranced to smell like flowers or candy but it doesn't smell like actual charcoal aka chalky. I suprisingly really love the aroma which smells like herbal spiced red hot tea as opposed to something completely overbearing like tea tree oil. It is slightly gray/black when you pump it out but unlike pure activated charcoal does not leave a black residue/mess everywhere and once massaged into a wet face really goes pretty clear. When used with hands it is somewhat low foaming as many natural cleansers are, which is for the better since there aren't any harsh lathering agents. This makes it great for massaging in and not to worry still leaves your face feeling clean. Also I was pleasantly suprised when I decided to give it a try with my Clarisonic at night it foamed very nicely without a problem. Overall a great addition to my skincare routine and natural remedy for my pain in the butt fussy skin. Eminence is still #1 for me but Michael Todd Skincare is becoming a close second. I wish more organic skincare would follow with the quality these 2 do and cator to all skin stypes including breakout and oily prone aka not being completely full of pore clogging oils. Love it! Think Korres is the best? Not until you've tried this! I love this cleanser a million times more than any other brands even more than the Japanese big brands! It's just phenomenal! I love it so much, well worth the price and fast shipping, it only took 5-6 days to arrive at my door and I live in Hong Kong! And the product itself is great for any kind of skin as I have dry skin and some other reviewers have oily skin but I can't feel any dryness too! It leaves my skin feel and also so soft to the touch! I was previously using a neutrogena cleanser and I thought I was never going to be able to stop using it because of constant breakouts....until I started using the michael todd skincare products. This cleanser is slightly watery but I use it with my brush and it foams up quite nicely and really does a good job of deep cleaning my face. I saw a big boom of mtto on youtube, that beauty gurus were all doing a review on, so i was very skeptical on whether or not it was the real deal or a paid review- but I ordered anyways and i LOVE it. I have only used this cleanser once a day for less than a week and it has already cleared my worst problem area on my face. Just under my cheek bone I had a patch of tiny tiny white heads. By the 5th day, the patch was gone! I have had this patch for months and months! I have combo skin and the oil is barely there even in 100 degree weather! I love this stuff! I've personally been using the tester you sent of the Charcoal Gel Cleanser and I love it. I am 39 and never had acne until about a year ago. I've tried everything since including seeing a dermatologist. Since I started using your cleanser, I have not had any acne problems at all. I have lots of small acne on my cheeks possibly coming from not removing make-up completely. After using this cleanser, I feel like I am getting a very deep clean down into my pores and everything that I don't want on my skin is removed. My acne is slowly diminishing with the use of this product combined with other treatments applied before sleeping. I am 23 and have never had terrible acne. I have bigger pores and blackheads. I have very oily skin when it comes to my face. I usually have black heads on my nose, chin and along my jaw line. I have only been using this product for about a week or so and it definitely removes the oil from my face. It keeps the oil away for a few hours, which is better for me! I do see a difference on my nose and chin however, my jawline does still have blackheads but that is my worst area so I am hoping with more use it will clear that up. (Posted on 8/2/12)
